When to replace recoil spring
I have a 1911 wondering when do you replace the recoil spring?
Probably after 2,500 rounds depending. Test by moving the slide out of the battery and see if spring will push it back into battery on its own.

Theres is signs you can notice when you should change your spring:
- Slide feels sluggish when cycling
- Does not return to battery
- The ejection pattern changes
- Increased feel in recoil that was not there before
- The recoil will feel snappy coming back
Every 3,000-5,000 rounds. If it feels like crap before that, change it. Better safe than sorry when it comes to cycling.
