The Best Hunting Caliber
Favorite hunting caliber: .357, .44, .45-70, or something else?
Good Question. I would like to know the real answer. I feel like .30-06 because it can be used for everything

It really depends on what you’re hunting and how you like to hunt. If you’re after small varmints, something like .22 Magnum or .218 Bee in a lever gun is great for precision shots without excessive meat damage. For medium game at close range, .357 Magnum or .44 Magnum are solid choices .30-30 Winchester is the classic all-around deer and hog caliber, offering a great balance of power and range. If you’re after bigger game or need serious knockdown power, .45-70 Government is hard to beat. At the end of the day the best caliber comes down to your terrain and the game you're hunting.

I would say .308 it's the most reliable for North American Hunting.
In terms of big game hunting .300 Winchester Magnum
@scarecrow 30-06 is good for general use but 308 is basically the same thing except it kicks less and is cheaper to shoot
