Bullseye23 here with an intro question
If you could design a firearm from scratch, what features would it have and why?
If I could build a gun from scratch I’d go for a modular pistol-to-carbine platform. Something that works as both an EDC handgun and a home-defense/truck gun, depending on how it’s set up...
1. serialized chassis system (like the P320) so you can switch between sizes
2. Quick-detach barrels and slides to go from compact to full-size or PCC without tools
3. Built-in red dot cut with factory-aligned backup ghost rings, no adapter plates
4. Swappable magwells to accept Glock, CZ, or proprietary mags
5. Suppressor-ready barrel (threaded from the jump)
6. Gas-delayed blowback for softer recoil in carbine mode
Basically, I want one platform that covers carry, range, and home defense. No more needing five different guns for five roles. Curious what others would prioritize — concealability? Caliber versatility? Simplicity?
