Asking for Opinions: Glocks for Beginners?

So in the other thread I'm being told I should look into getting a Glock for a beginner gun for both self-defense purposes and for fun. Any ideas on which Glocks I should buy specifically? Buying for a new gun owner, looking to see what y'all say.

I usually would recommend the Glock 19 but always look through sites for what suits you better. Its capacity is 15/1 which is pretty superb. The accuracy and capacity alone make me very high on this gun. Although, my cousin who was a new gun owner; had luck in was the Glock 26 because it is a little smaller and probably the best for concealed carry imo.  A smaller gun.... so easier on the go.

The Glock 19 Gen 5 is a highly versatile handgun with a user-friendly design. I would say the 19 is optimal for most people; it's easier to shoot and great for practicing your skills.

By the way, what is your build and size? That can influence what feels comfortable for you if you decide to carry.

I actually own a Glock 19, and it’s a great gun for what I got it for it. It conceals with some effort because it's a bit bulky, but it’s large enough to have some fun at the range. For new gun owners it is all about how reliable this gun is, and I agree. I brought this gun for my son. Most of the time, it’s just tucked away in my vault for home defense, so the difficulty with concealing isn’t a dealbreaker for him. He can always opt for a slimmer gun in the future, like the Glock 48, which is much thinner and easier to carry if he decides to go that route.

I would say Glock 19 it is probably the best all around. I would also say G45 has a ton of aftermarket support as well he can add on (definitely more compact gun options)

The Glock 19 is a standard for a reason. Very ehh trigger my man. Like shooting a staple gun. You may find that you don't care about that, but it's important to try other guns as well.

Fair Enough. Then how about the Glock 43, easy to shoot. It feels comfortable in my hands; the trigger has a crisp pressure wall. Super Slim, it’s much easier to conceal than previous Glock models.

No Glock 43 is not a good beginner gun.

It has a very small magazine

Snappy recoil due to a different barrel timing

and no manual safety

I can go on

I have a P365 which put my g43 away for the time being.  I just love the G43 for its size, durability and reliability! Will bring those guns everywhere besides my pool 🤣

If you’re looking for a solid first handgun, the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus 9mm is a great pick:
 small
easy to shoot
9mm ammo is easy to find
solid option whether you’re  at the range or want something for home defense

@grizzleycapen Lower Capacity but it is a good value option the narrow grip I thought would be a bother but its rather comfortable.
